Transcription: The floppy drive is located in the front of your PC. Its purpose is to store information from your PC's volatile RAM to a floppy disk. The floppy drive and disk work much like a VCR tape works with a VCR. The floppy drive records from RAM to disk and can play back this information to RAM. Recording is called writing to the disk and playing is called reading from the disk. This is done by a read-write head that rests physically on the floppy disk.
